Templates are a great tool to build a common framework for similar content. Templates help Content Creators save time and create a uniform structure for micro-credentials. System Admin have the ability to make several different types of templates.
Templates are available when creating a micro-credential, not instructional materials or professional learning.
System Admin are the only users who have permission to create or delete templates.
Creating a Template
Note: Only System Admin can create templates.
Step 1:
- Create a micro-credential. Refer to 'Creating a Micro-credential' to learn more.
Step 2:
- Format the template as you wish using the module and section tools.
- Templates include the titles of the modules or sections and empty content blocks in the sequence of your choosing.
- Add a PDF rubric to each module by selecting '+ PDF Rubric' below the module title bar. You can add a different rubric for each module. Rubrics will be available to the learners and evaluators.
Step 3:
- Click on the settings wheel and select 'Create template from this MC'.

Using a Template
Note: Once a template has been created by a System Admin, other Content Creators will have access to the template when creating a micro-credential.
To use a template that has already been created, you will select the template at the beginning of creating a micro-credential. Refer to 'Creating a Micro-Credential' for more detailed information.
- Select '+ Structured Content' and 'Micro-Credential'
- Select 'Create from templates'.
- Use the drop down to select which template you would like to use for the micro-credential.
Deleting a Template
Note: Only System Admin can delete templates.
To delete a template, System Admin will:
- Select 'Add Structured Content' and 'Micro-credential'.
- When prompted to choose between 'Create new' and 'Create from templates', choose 'Create from templates'
- Use the drop down to see all of the templates that have been created. Use the red 'X' to delete any templates that are no longer needed.
