Creating Instructional Materials

TABLE OF CONTENTS


Content Creators can build and house instructional materials together. Instructional Materials include curriculum, units, lessons and resources. Creators are able to group related materials and tag using the IB taxonomy. 


The Content Creator is the Manager of their instructional materials, but can also add collaborators as a Manager, Primary Author or Collaborator. Refer to the 'Roles & Permissions' table below to learn about the permissions for each role. See 'Collaborators and Permissions' to learn how to add collaborators to instructional materials. 


Creating Instructional Materials


Step 1: 

  • Select '+ Structured Content' in top right corner,
  • Choose 'Instructional Materials'.


Step 2: 

  • Create a title for the instructional materials, the code will auto-populate. 


Step 3: 

  • Classify the Instructional Materials using the IB Taxonomy. 
  • Add applicable tags, you will be prompted to add tags in the following order. 
    • Approaches to Teaching (ATTs), Learner Profile Skills, and Teacher Capability Tag using the drop down
    • Select 'Next' to choose product tags


Step 4: 

  • Add collaborators by choosing 'Add another'. Assign their roles and select their permissions (Collaborator, Manager or Primary Author). Refer to the 'Roles & Permissions' table below or the 'Collaborators and Permissions' article to learn more. 
    • Note: There must be at least one Manager. The Content Creator will be listed as a Manager by default.


Step 5: 

  • Create your instructional materials using the unit and lesson building options. 
  • Choose from 20+ engagement tools to use alongside upload instructional materials. 
    • Tip: The following tools will automatically grade answers, and will not require an evaluator: multiple choice, multi-select, matching, and sorting. 
  • Refer to 'Drafting' to view the steps for publishing content.
